The Big Bend Mental Health Counselors Association holds the following goals:

1. Promoting the profession of Mental Health Counseling

2. Increasing the visibility and professional stature of the profession,

3. Fostering professional identity and development,

4. Providing education and training opportunities to enhance the quality of services provided by Mental Health Counselors,

5. Promoting legislation which advances and recognizes the profession of Mental Health Counselors,

6. Promoting alliances with other organized Mental Health Professionals in common goals and interests and generally attempting to work for the common good of Mental Health Counselors and the betterment of the community.
